ABC/Scotia update March 2nd.
3 years 5 months ago - 3 years 5 months ago
Good morning all and Covid has left the front pages.
I normally think about a song for my headline and hits like Imagine, Everybody Wants to Rule the World etc., all come to mind in this horrific situation we have in Ukraine/Russia.
I had a few items that I wanted to share but the magnitude of what is happening with a potential WW3 a reality, most other thoughts pale into insignificance to the hardships of what is being endured by the citizens of Ukraine.
Watching the footage of this humanitarian crisis is heartbreaking.
Sanctions are in place to do financial damage to Russia but the future and a rebuild is impossible to comprehend.
If you believe the world is flat, the States and Russia appear far apart, with the world being round they are only separated by the Bering Straits.
We have an extensive thread running on the site.
Local front in SA :
As they say, life goes on and we still have plenty of fun and games while more and more financial crimes against the ANC pile up, will anyone ever be brought to book?
Municipal trip:
It appears negligible but yesterday I had to eventually make the effort to visit the offices after trying to resolve an issue for a period of 4 months with swapped water meters.
Needless to say we were there for over 5 hours and the service and attitude was shocking as you would expect in any government run section.
240/249:
Another hot topic on the site and a good farewell from Shaheen Shaw to Tellytrack and a major disappointment for the new kids on the block for the punters.
Facebook:
I have never been a FUNDI but I tried to change some profile details and kept pushing next, saw a category “married” with blank box, where I did click, this was followed by many congratulations eg: about time, where was my invitation and from my son “anyone we know?"
I was tempted to try and correct it but I will probably end up circulate, single or divorced.
Kloof :
We are back to KZN next week to watch the grandkids, so another mini but pleasant challenge.
Racing :
CHELTENHAM is only a couple of weeks away and we have good info on site.
Turffontein on sat. we have the second leg of the triple crown/tiara where I will stick with the MDK double taking the reputation over the form book for a “bling double”.
Humble Tune runs on Thursday, weather permitting, after our disastrous trip to KZN and will probably need the run but I will take a small ew.
Doctors visit:
I was well overdue for a check up and thought I should stop drinking for a couple of days and take all my regular tabs leading up to the tests, I was a bit like Delboy on his visit to the doctor (see below) just to end up on a lighter note during difficult times.
I did say I have cereal in the morning but did not mention its followed by a bacon roll.
Good Punting and thoughts and prayers are with the brave Ukraine people 🙏

We live in a world that is a mess Scotia but thank goodness that there is more good than evil.
Long weather forecast is a snow bomb hitting Britain around the time of Cheltenham, so expect temperatures of 20 degrees
