Re: Turffontein, Saturday 05 March - Classic Day
3 years 3 months agoDid u hear the interview that Julie did with the 4Q's CEO after the WSB SA Classic?
How do u as a black South African pronounce Mariba as Marima?
Token or coconut, its disrespectful. And u are the beacon of transformation for 4Q.
Are you serious? Are you watching her for any slight error to label her as incompetent or as a coconut? May I suggest that you transfer you focus to the numerous "other" presenters and called out pensioners for their umpteenth mistakes and racist remarks before you go down this path. She made a mistake, perhaps pronounciation, but to call her a coconut?? This is why racing NEEDS transformation, for people like you who are standing against it with daggers... Your time too, is limited. Make peace with it or out get out of the game in SA.

We have seen the Triple Tiara winner today. The bond between rider and horse is unbelievable.
From the moment Richard got on the filly he was showing his affection for the filly, at the start too and in the winner's circle also.
Like Captain's Ransom, Fourie has an affinity with fillies.
Mike de Kock should be engaging with RF to get Desert Miracle back to winning ways in distances up to a mile.
Kzn Winter Season at Greyville and a good draw is needed to take on Chansonette over a mile.

@Press, I tender an unreserved apology to YOU for my utterances.
Clearly, I was watching a different channel to you. You are apparently okay with the crap that was served up yesterday on Channel 240 and would welcome the same crap daily. The leader of an organisation sets the tone for organisation. If the CEO is unprepared and lacks the requisite knowledge to be in front of the LIVE camera, the CEO is setting the tone for everyone else in front of the camera. So, if you concur with the CEO that the win by Mariba and Soma is a Cinderella story, then brace yourself for the realities of the horseracing industry that does not have a happily ever after ending
I agree with you that racing needs transformation. Clearly the on course and in-studio presenters, all from one race group, is the holy grail that we should not comment on as this may also offend you. And most likely you don’t see colour and this aspect does not need transformation. So let me not go there with any critique nor to the sisters and brother that occupy the same space in front of the Cape Racing cameras.
I don’t accept nor do I have to make peace with mediocrity, like you do. I note that you are advising me to get out of the game in SA. I am interested to ascertain how you arrived at this conclusion? Are you referring to the media, breeding, hospitality or gaming industry?
