It’s true after all these years the best way to get people to the track is to have a share in a horse but financially it has become more difficult with high costs and small stakes.
The GRAND weekend is in connection with the 3 day National festival from Aintree.
21 races with 11 grade ones and plenty top class action.
Here are some potential highlights.
Today
Pied Piper 11/10 takes on Brazil 22/10, it’s not a football match so let’s stick to the Piper.
Clan Des Obeaux 6/1 and Bristol De Mai 33/1 should be considered in exotics for the big chase.
Epatante 2/1 vs Zanahiyr 22/10 should be a cracker.
Friday
Jonbon 12/10 should get the punters off to a flyer.
Bravesmansgame and Lhomme Presse are 14/10 joint and expect a Brave contest.
Fakir Doudairies at 15/10 looks a decent bet
Saturday
It’s National day and more to follow on the smaller races but Delta Work and Snow Leopardess are my clear fancies and are around 9/1 joint favs.
I am sure we all have National memories and my best was when Red Rum got up to beat Crisp in a must watch replay from 1973.
I did back Crisp and at the weights to me Crisp ran the best race ever for any National horse .
On the local front.
My partners have three runners on Friday in PE and hope for good ew runs from St Patrick’s Day, Sultanah and Cane Lime and Soda, can hopefully be upgraded to JWB?.
Racing at Turffontein on Saturday
We have Humble Tune in the second race, we were trying to get into an easier race but missed the draw. Have decided to go for the tough competition rather than sit in the stable and 25/1 shots do win races.
Rimaah, Freed from Desire and unfortunately Outofthedarkness appear bankers.
