I personally believe that the commentator should simply call the race without the dramatics.
Not every punter is calling for the favourites, especially in the exotic bets.
No need to feel mortified when an outsider wins or to describe the brilliant ride or great training performance when a favourite wins.
Telling us that a 100/1 shot is so far back that he will have be very good to win from there is unnecessary & a bit annoying.
We know about & appreciate your enthusiasm for the game, but please just call the race as it unfolds. Nice & simple.

@Helicopter posted before the race so whether he/she/it took a bet or didn't, he/she/it shared thoughts that gave all of us an opportunity to use or lose...pretty much every other poster does the same...

If any poster blows their own horn, that's on them...can irritate the rest of us at times but they will live with that embellishment or outright lie...should be water off our backs...

Just think that we need to leave it to the moderators to determine what is tolerable on the site they run and fellow posters can call each other out only for something specifically personally offensive...the rest we leave to the moderators...
