Claymore - Mary Slack

Not sure if there is a thread on this horse already but, wow, he is impressive. I saw him in the flesh at Newmarket last week and then had a good look at him at racing yesterday. Not only did he run 2nd to possible the best 3 year old on earth in Native Trail but Claymore is also 10/1 for the French Guineas, where he is going. For you anti post punters, get in! He will likely become a stallion in SA I’m sure regardless of what happens from here after being Gr placed yesterday but I feel there is way more to come from him. Some excitement for SA racing fans during the European summer. Go Claymore!

Just to note standing in South Africa is

Wings of Desire who is by Pivotal ran 4th in the Epsom Derby and 2nd in the King George.

Also

Erupt by Dubawi. Grade 1 Winner in France and Canada.

Breeders are going for Miler type horses to stand instead of Classic type horses. In South Africa there is a shortage of long distance races.

On another note, on Sunday in the jumps a half sibling to Canford Cliffs won. Canford Cliffs is standing in South Africa.
