Imagine the planning that took part into making today "Royal Race Day" it has even been delayed by a week.

Imagine my surprise that in the week that Her Majesty The Queen turned 96 South African horse racing decided to
honour royalty as opposed to ROYALTY

How do these guys think?

Never mind the commonwealth connection, The Queens Plate connection. NAH stuff that we chose to ignore The Queen (someone that actually loves Horse Racing)

You could not make this kind of stuff up.......I would pay almost any amount of money to attend the strategy meetings held by the curators of SA racing.

Didn't this meeting use to be a big charity event? With kids being coached in to attend the day?

Yes, it was.

Worst part is that HRH, Charlene (nee Charlene Wittstock) was born in Zimbabwe. Moved to South Africa in her teens.

Really don't understand the crowd issues racing has...

Can only think that the racing community is so small these days that the crowds that do turn up are relative to the size of the fan base

Greyville Friday night had a decent crowd.
Hollywood lamb bunnies sold out by race 6.

Was actually going to single out KZN as the exception, there is definitely still handing on to some of the racing culture
