Last week of April: racing highlights.

Good morning all, it’s been a while since I posted but the site continues to keep me busy with plenty interesting topics.

Another week and another month ends with more public holidays.

Times are tough for all and the planet continues to be in a hell of a mess.
It has actually got to the stage, I don’t think it can be fixed?

However we can only do what we can to keep the wheels in motion during difficult times.

Some good racing from Punchestown over the next few days where, Sir Gerhard, Energumene, Chacum Pour Soi, Bob Olinger, Allaho, CLAN, Facile Vega, Klassic Dream and Paisley Park are some of the decent horses on display.
The major disappointment was that the clash between Honeysuckle and Constitution Hill will not materialize and Honeysuckle should continue on her winning ways.

Saturday we have the 2000gns from Newmarket where Native Trail appears to have the right credentials but Luxembourg could be the danger.
More disappointed in the 1000gns where Inspiral won’t run.

On the local front we have the Sales with plenty potential champions and an excellent catalog, but will there be enough buying power to meet the expectations?
It really is not sensible to purchase horses in the current climate but the owners/punters continue to find the money.

We will have a free compo on Champions Day where Kommetdieding should be the star of the show. Rain in Holland should be the other banker but I am personally trying to beat the obvious ones with a pick 6 perm.

Good Punting

Things never change. Same old, same old offerings. No exotics offered for the Australian morning meetings. Later on today its the start of the Punchestown Festival. The first race is at 16h40 our time and last race 20h45. No exotics offered. Even if they offer exotics from the third race it will have been fine because all our local meetings will be over by then. Let's hope they can offer it tomorrow as Honeysuckle is carded to run on Friday.

Who decides which venue to cover for exotics, 4Racing or Goldcircle. Surely maximizing turnover should be the priority.

Lastly the Kentucky Derby is next week and I doubt that will be covered but 4Racing wants to cover major races throughout the world even in Turkey.
