Seemingly 5 Billion and only a website, they also bought Sepels.
Betfred have launched a major partnership with South Africa’s largest online betting company, LottoStar (Pty) Ltd.
Betfred have taken a majority shareholding in LottoStar, which offers fixed-odds numbers betting and Live Games on its online platform.
LottoStar has quickly developed itself as a leading brand, recognised nationally across South Africa after high-profile marketing campaigns and their continued efforts to uplift and rebuild communities through their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives across SA.
The partnership further adds to Betfred’s presence in South Africa, in which they currently operate 53 shops and an online business after the acquisition of Betting World and Sepels Sportsbet.
“We are delighted to partner with such a fast-growing company in South Africa, the business will not only complement our activity in South Africa but our international businesses in the United States and Europe. We look forward to working closely with the LottoStar team to support the continued growth of the business providing world-class games and services to the online betting market in South Africa,” said Betfred Chief Executive Officer, Joanne Whittaker.
LottoStar’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tasoulla Hadjigeorgiou, added: “LottoStar was founded in 2014 as a family-run business with an innovative model to offer a fixed-odds betting online platform in South Africa. As an online betting leader in South Africa, we are excited to partner with one of the UK’s best bookmakers. We are confident that this partnership will broaden our offering and provide our customers with the highest quality services. Our partnership also paves the way for greater collaboration and expansion, and we are excited to grow our family.”

Can you find out why they do not price up on American racing even when its televised.
Other bookmakers are pricing up on other American centres as well that are not televised.

Re: Betfred buy Lottostar
2 years 8 months agoHearing they have made another Supa purchase
Does not offer USA betting in the night only maybe 5 minutes before at times. About 5 or 6 South African bookmakers offers betting on numerous USA meetings even if not shown on 4Racing Channel.
Their other competitor Betway horse racing prices are terrible.
The masses are playing soccer and lucky numbers so horse racing unfortunately takes a back seat.

Can't beat HWB when it comes to overseas betting. Can structure your doubles and trebles early and then relax and enjoy the races, not have to sit and watch and bet as they price up the races.
