Pick 3 Explanation Required
2 years 11 months ago
The Pick 3 of the 5th, 6th, 7th Race at Fairview paid the pool of R28,216.30
The minimum times you can wager the Pick 3 is two times. Was the dividend not suppose to be half of the pool 14k odd? This happens regularly. Are the commingling jurisdictions allowed to take the Pick 3, one time.
Bob, can you find out from them.
Also, can the Pick 3 revert back to a minimum, one time.
Also, Pick 3s get carried over numerous times in a week but after three or so months a carryover Pick 3 pool is created and most of the times its only 100k. Before the July the previous carryover pool was in February.

......another reason to play the open bet....but must also be a reason for the lower tote pools....at least with a bookie you can take bigger perms and limit the outlay by taking a %....
.......the operator is on a hiding 2nd to none.....they have to come up with something to make nice in order to get the bookies slice.....as funding stakes and operational costs from the tote turnover is unsustainable.... no matter how much they get 240 presenters to bleat about supporting the tote.....:S

Still no response from the TAB?
Not surprised, however Muhti is right about betting with the Books and taking a % age.
However this becomes a big problem if big volumes are placed with Bookies and less with the Tote, after all it is the Tote pool that determines the final payout however small.
In all fairness it would be in the interests of all punters countrywide if the bookies betting platforms be amalgamated into one Tote pool.
Without the usual limits of course.

Tabgold are on this site.
Hollywood are on this site.
Hollywood respond but Tabgold never.
They even had a option on the Tabgold site where you could ask questions like this and they would respond but that quickly was shut down.
How can you build a business without giving a crap about your clients?

.....we should not blame Tabgold...as they are not the tote operator, but participate in the national combined tote pools which is controlled by "Saftote" ie the "Vaalie" operator...who seems not to be very transparent about carry overs and their current "rake"....these days with co-mingling I would strongly advocate that we move to having local regional co-mingling and each vendor, region and betting outfit contribute "all tote style bets" to central pools and their respective contribution to that pool is paid back pro rata...ie you only get paid out a cut on the amount you put in .

Re: Pick 3 Explanation Required

The TAB Pick 3 payout of R28 216 to only one winning ticket on Races 5 to 7 at Fairview last Friday arose as a result of an international commingling partner inadvertently failing to apply the TAB stipulation that the amount bet per combination must be R2 or a multiple thereof.
The unit cost of the Pick 3 is R1, but the stipulation that the amount bet per combination must be R2 or a multiple of R2 (R4, R6, R8 etc) makes it impossible for a single ticket to scoop the pool if the stipulation is applied.
All TAB international commingling partners have been reminded to apply the amount-per-combination minimum to both the Pick 3 and Double.
And to ensure there cannot be a recurrence that could result in TAB’s South African customers being disadvantaged, TAB intends to drop the amount- per-combination minimum of R2 for both the Pick 3 and Double in the near future. An announcement will be made in due course.

The Pick 3 was changed to R2.00 min since August 2019. Some 3 years later TAB figures out that their commingling agreements allow the tail to wag the dog!!!
Host tote rules should apply by default!
Is Lance Smith, the previous head of Tellytrack (under Phumelela) the guy in charge of International division? If so, this is a minor oversight compared to not knowing who Alastair Cohen.

Re: Pick 3 Explanation Required

Another week has gone and no communication in regards when the Pick 3 will revert to a R1 a line. Can you please find out from them.
Today the Pick 3 of 5th, 6th 7th Race has unexplainable payouts.
The pool is R12 774
The payout on 7 means it will be caught 5 times, the 9 equals 2 times.
Every other payout is not divisible by whole numbers.
So the question is the international partners are allowed to play fractional percentages as well like 1.2x, 1.3x, etc.
I await a reply. Thanks.

Host rules apply..... Oz and others are diluting the dividends
They are fractional bets on their Totes. .
Try taking a Jackpot for any
Harness meeting on the Tote and you are restricted to a FULL BET AND NO %AGES. YOU WILL HAVE TO BET WITH THE BOOKIES IF YOU WANT A % AGE.
IS THAT HOST RULES TOO???
