Marina won well and is related to July winner Marinaresco. Unfortunately it has not been running in its optimum trip. Maybe if it ran in the right races it could have run in the July. Sadly it never win a Grade 1 yet. Who knows can do a Shes A Keeper if she races at 5 and win a Grade 1.

South Africa desperately needs an open Grade 1 fillies and mares race over 2000m or more.

......Sciantiso was owned by a guy called Mike Traub.....he got into a bit of a financial bind and sold this horse 3 months before the Gold Cup......the horse while transported to KZN over night from the Cape.....got loose at a water stop and jumped into a farm dam....and waded and played in the water for 4hours while the groom and driver tried to catch it....they finally caught it in the early hours of the morning of the race ....and only just made it to the course much later....and it still won....:ohmy:
