Trainers and Jockeys 2022/2023 season

3 years 2 weeks ago
#848033
After 1 week

98 trainers have at least one runner. 37 have had at least 1 winner.
Peter yard looks set to dominate again.

64 Jockeys and appies have had at least 1 ride. 29 have at least 1 winner

Muzi started strong.

Kennedy riding for Peter, smith and Van zyl yards makes hard to oppose if he rides the entire season.

The sad truth is that the apprentices over the last couple of years has been below average, definitely no Muis, Gov, Striker, Marcus etc coming through

I won't be harsh on Venniker though, she is better than most in her age group and will regain her confidence, give her time

Black Jockeys dominate top of the table.

I see lotsa marketing potential here.

Is it just me or are August, September and most of October a waste of time, boring and to put it bluntly SHITE?

I know the top yards in JHB all voted for the close down and haven't been risking their horses in the brick hard winter going as they would normally, but still!!

.....we find ourselves in this quandary due to the lack of Phum reinvestment into race tracks up here.....a typical unethical corporate strategy to strip an acquisition/entity of assets in order to fund share payouts and not develop the remaining assets ....so here we are with very little options other than looking to find greener grass else where ...
