Race 1: Qualified Maiden 1200m

#7 GIMME THE FLAME (16-10) has run against stronger fields than this and she is hard to beat.

#8 MEMORIAL DAY (10-1) finished just behind the Fav on her debut. She found 1400m too far the next time and then ran a shocker last time, always looking beaten. She's been reported as having a breathing issue and has been been fitted with a cornel collar today to help alleviate that issue. At best, she could threaten the Fav.

There’s nothing else that I like here.

SELECTION: 7 should win; 8 could be the upset.

R1: Gimme the Flame does stands out a bit here on form imo - not too bad a price either

R2: I think the betting is all wrong here - WIlliamthefighter must have a chance, but much too short in the market imo - Full Go beat him when they met - so big price here - also Samthewiseman on a line through Texas Red has William held - then Bling is on Gaupo - jockey strike

R3: Maiden Handicap - but with the allowance Summerland does look the right one - danger could be Queen Brittania if reproducing her best run

R4: Another Maiden Handicap - not a lot between quite a few - respect the money for Lord Tennyson

R5: Imperial Master worthy favorite on form - open beyond him - Afraad is at a big price imo

R6: Competitive handicap - Crusade to Royalty often thereabouts - each-way shout again

R7: Stormy Lass, Laetitia's Angel; Baby Don't Hurt Me set to improve with blinkers

R8: Extremely open - I'm including Ice Eater at a big price
