Change of Venue for 8th & 22nd September from Vaal Track to Turffontein Inside 31 August 2022
Please note that the racemeetings of 8th and 22nd September has been moved from the Vaal track to Turffontein Inside in an endeavour to allow enough time for the affected sections of the Vaal straight track to recover.
All Entries for the racemeeting of 8 September will be reopened and will close on 1 September at 9am and declarations at 11am. Kindly also note the distance change for Events 6 & 7, which will now be run over 1450m.
The unusual rains in June 2022 on the Highveld coupled with the very cold weather of the winter season has added to the slow recovery of the Vaal straight track, with the middle sections of the turf in the straight experiencing more wear and tear due a preference for horses to race there.
In order to prevent horses from racing on the affected areas and taking into consideration that there are smaller fields carded for next Tuesday’s racemeeting on 6 September, the outside rail will be moved some 14 metres inwards.
