Kenilworth and Durbanville can look forward to a brighter future with Hollywoodbets

CAPE TOWN, 31 August 2022: Cape Racing is proud to announce Hollywoodbets coming on board as the new naming rights sponsor of Kenilworth and Durbanville racecourses. These iconic community landmarks will now be known as Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Racecourse and Hollywoodbets Durbanville Racecourse.
Through this sponsorship, the two organisations are working together to create much improved venues and experience for race-goers, which will bring together communities and showcase the thrill of horse racing to new and old crowds. This initiative includes the upgrading of facilities, bringing a number of bookmakers back on course and fun activities for all, as well as bigger fields with the introduction of the recently launched Race Cape campaign powered by Hollywoodbets.
Following the huge success of the Grooms Initiative project in KwaZulu-Natal, focussing on this important sector was an integral component of this partnership. Hollywoodbets and Cape Racing are happy to introduce this programme to Western Cape racing to recognise the critical role played by grooms. They will now receive a R1 000 cash bonus for every win, paid jointly by both parties.
Hollywoodbets will also sponsor a Work Riders’ series, with the goal of promoting and developing future stars. The series will encompass ten races culminating in a spectacle race against jockeys. In addition to the new naming rights deal, Hollywoodbets will sponsor the final race of each meeting, the Hollywoodbets Bright Future Stakes.
Greg Bortz, Chairman Elect of Cape Racing, added “We are intensely focused on reinvigorating and uplifting this wonderful sport of ours, not just for the racing fans, but for those key employees and stakeholders who are the building blocks underpinning it all. In Hollywoodbets, Cape Racing has found a sponsor and partner with a shared value system and outlook. “
Devin Heffer, Brand and Communications Manager at Hollywoodbets, expressed “Hollywoodbets is absolutely thrilled to be involved with Cape Racing and we are looking to breathe new fire into racing in the Western Cape. The naming rights sponsorship and other projects are just the beginning of our involvement and race goers in the province will see a lot more of our signature purple branding in the near future.”
These initiatives all start from Wednesday 7th September 2022.

......I believe that Hollywood bets also now offer a tote betting option on their online platforms which is fed directly into TabGold tote pools ....thus giving their customers an option to support the tote directly or if they still wish the open bet.

I commend this gesture as this could put them in good stead with regulatory authorities in incorporating future tote facilities and terminals in plans for newly developed betting sites in other gaming jurisdictions, should they get the necessary regulatory gaming licenses to do so.....

How much of tote betting revenue is wagered via the online bookmaker portal.I don't believe that it's a huge amount.
The tote just cannot compete with these bookmakers.Bookmakers are able to accommodate 4 and 5 and 6 places payouts at any given time but the totes cannot.
A punter would rather take restricted place odds with a bookmaker who offers these extra places than wager on the Tote. It's a no brainer.
Just my opinion on this tote issue.

.....yeah but the option is now there and the onus is now on the punter and should he/she want to carry on seeing local racing..... should place their exotics tote offering with the tote.....@Duke you are referring to fixed odds betting with additional placings and that has always been the domain of bookies....@Bob it may have been there for some time now but the average joe dont know....especially those that do not bet with HW anymore....I know that some other bookies also have this feature and find that it is a gr8 way to traverse the limited deposit offerings that still plague tote operators....HW is leagues ahead in getting many more ways for punters to get funds into their accounts by more options to utilize cash for purchasing many more voucher options.....however they and many others conversely have a more lengthy protocol in trying to get funds out....and there nothing beats the tote....

Did Phumelela not breathe fire into Cape racing when they damaged them not (mis)managed them.....?

It's a rush remember that bollocks?

Perhaps some of the old exec can explain some of the expense claims submitted I have heard some cracking stories my favourite being Davis and the "Lady in Red"

.......there is one major thing that Capetonians can't handle..... is when a bunch of up country suits come down and start throwing their weight around.....they would rather keep their well fed/bred horses in a box or an occasional outing to the beach instead of racing them and feeding the machine paying shareholders dividends and not raking enough of it back into the game.....

I bank with Capitec and with wsb if I withdraw on Sunday at 4 pm by 9 am next day it lands during the week it lands same day within 5 hours. I havent bet on the tote for at least 10 years simply because there is no customer support and lack of options to bet, I really think bookies putting money into the tote pools is a great idea and if they are doing so let the public know

Contest, funnily enough we were talking amongst ourselves at Summerveld this morning and by far the majority are really enjoying it now that we are used to it.
