The "concert"was embarrassing it was so bad.
.....not a performer for a live show.....especially with the broadcasters sound issues.....

To be fair, this concert was on par with the first night of a Grade R concert at a Model C school (yeah, that's where I attended). The number of people in the audience at Turfies was not too dissimilar to the Grade R concert attendees.

A replica!!!

Compare this kak to the show that HWB and Gold Circle put up to announce the stakes for the HWB 2022 July.

Let's not insult armatures by assigning same title to 4Q

.....yet the 4Q propaganda piece akin to that of Putin himself is to the contrary.....

Award-winning singer Lady Zamar got the crowd on their feet with her half-time show, performing her famous hits, Citizen and Love is blind, before the main event.

The only race day to feature a half-time show, taking inspiration from the NFL, the Betway Summer Cup half-time show also featured a colourful blend of performers including a delightful display from drum majorettes, cheer leaders, and a spectacular fashion show by the Spero Villioti Elite Design Academy.

“We are thrilled to have hosted a successful 2022 Betway Summer Cup, together with our sponsors and partners that made Johannesburg’s biggest horse racing experience come to life. This was truly the People’s race, with thousands of people enjoying a beautifully sunny day, excellent entertainment and thrilling races,” said Fundi Sithebe, CEO of 4Racing.

The Honourable Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse attended the event, together with, amongst others, Gauteng MEC for Infrastructure Development and Property Management Tasneem Motara, The Wife actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela, Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung, and Carte Blanche’s Claire Mawisa.

Another embarassing day for these clowns that run gauteng racing , firstly starting with the rent a crowd , then the concert that was as entertaining as watching paint dry and finally the press release , sad state of affairs

The power cuts did not help

I did take a few pics and videos but was unable to do much without internet.
I have a Vodacom box but also did not help plus plenty data.
Could not use my phone to punt, autobanks were down, so a silent frustrating day.
The results also did not help but that was my own choice.

I strongly suggest that a racetrack should be wifi friendly in this day and age .

Most venues these days are "no cash" and just tap your card to take a punt or buy food and drink.

Just a thought.

If I remember years ago they put terminals in the RA room to make it easy to go on line and take a punt.

.....Dave we have been calling for adequate wi fi on track for years now....there is no way one can leave the comfort of ones more than comfortable surroundings to go off and go to war on that track....and after yesterdays showcase you would not ever get a sane ex-race goer any where near that dump.....:(
