CARD CALL?? WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?? Card Call is a new and exciting tote betting product that will be launched in the very near future and be available for betting in your outlet. HOW DOES IT WORK? As I’m sure you are all aware, a standard deck of playing cards is made up of 52 individual cards. These cards are divided into 4 suits (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs and Spades). Hearts and Diamonds being RED in colour and the Clubs and Spades, BLACK. The cards in each suit are numbered as follows Ace, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, 10, Jack, Queen and King. Card Call is essentially a pool-based tote bet where customers are required to select the winning card from a random shuffle and draw of a single card. These shuffles will be broadcast live on your outlet BIT screen (where available) as well as on GallopTV (either live or near-live dependent on scheduling constraints). WHAT BETS ARE AVAILABLE?? The only bet type available will be a WIN bet and for each draw there will be 4 separate pools available. In all cases, the unit of betting is R1 with a minimum bet of R2. EXACT CARD – as the name implies, here the customer will need to select the EXACT card (both number and suit) drawn. Example – if the customer bets on the Ace of Spades, he will only win if that exact card (both number and suit correct) is drawn. CORRECT CARD – here the customer is required to choose the correct card only (NOT suit specific). So, if the customer bets on “7”, he will win if any of the 7’s are drawn (so it can be the 7 of Hearts, or Diamonds, or Clubs or Spades). CORRECT SUIT – the purpose is to select the correct suit of the card drawn so either Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs or Spades. CORRECT COLOUR – here the customer needs to simply select if the card drawn will be RED (so any Heart or any Diamond) or Black (any Club or any Spade). Customers are also able to take a COMBO TICKET for R10 which is basically an “all-in-one” ticket made up of R2 on the Exact Card, R2 on Correct Card, R2 on the correct colour and R4 on the Correct Suit. Note – Card Call will be sold as a verbal bet only (no betmark cards)

Have not read all the detail but is it 51/1 for exact call and 12/1 ish for a correct number or based on a tote principle on how many other players have the same call divided into total pool ?

It is great that the operator is trying new things but they also should try new types of bets with horse racing.

My suggestion with horse racing.

Divide each race field into 3 parts, for example,

Numbers 1 to 4 = A
Numbers 5 to 8 = B
Numbers 9 to 12 = C

Do this for every race in the meeting, most of the times there are 8 races.

Your aim is to find the winner of the 8 races with either being A, B or C. The cost of the bet will be R6 or R10 per combination with full unit betting only. Like in Soccer 10, there is a finite amount of combinations with only 3 options but you still get huge payouts.

If the field cannot be exactly divisable amongst, A, B or C then A should get first preference with more runners, then B, so in a 10 runner field it will be, A = 4, B = 3, C = 3.

No. It is pool betting, pari mutuel betting. So the more players pick the same card, the lesser the payout and vice versa. So if R1000 is bet into the pool after their takeout and only 2 players pick the correct card, then 500/1.

How much is this going to grow and whats the long term gain in this product.
Being the soccer world cup have a bet like the summercup into the 4 matches etc.
or on a daily occurence , a designated race everyday into the 4 matches etc.

the long term goal of this kinda product would be to integrate horseracing fans into soccer fans and equally important integrate soccer fans into horseracing fans.
thats a long term win solution .

this kinda bets , tells me of their mindset and desperation at the moment and have no idea of what a wrapped product ought to be and what is desirable and what benefits it has for their core product which supposed to be horseracing.

mind boggles me that they pay people and this is the best they can come up with.

.....the operator/s should stick in trying to get the basics right in trying to retain the bets they already have and get back punters from the open bet brigade before trying to lure a market of failed card playing sharps.....:S

Instead of trying to keep horse racing going and coming up with new horse racing bets they give us this shit.
It's just luck like most casino games but will probably bring in the money.
You see they not cared about horse racing they only worried about the easiest way to try and survive.

This is the worst idea ever, cannot believe someone came up with this shit and got it approved. A tote bet for a pack of cards. Then someone manages to have R6 winning bet on the right card, and gets a R12 payout because the pool was R24 and only 3 other players playing into this crap.

This bet will not last more than months. Stick to focusing in innovating horse racing pool bets, not this crap that only gamblers anonymous with gain more users from.

......I just saw a draw on GallopTV.....a total lottery and designed for totally compulsive sorts with nothing else to do with their tom but piss it away between races....has no one learned from that virtual racing crap and televised casino games that a certain operator tried before they finally went bust...:sick: .
