Turffontein abandoned
2 years 3 months ago
Please note , tomorrow's Turffontein race meeting (12/2/23) has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.
Unfortunately all three tracks are currently waterlogged and the dismal forecast for both venues allows us to make the early and uncomplicated decision.

@Bob,
Are you quoting 4Q? when you say:
"Unfortunately all three tracks are currently waterlogged and the dismal forecast for both venues allows us to make the early and uncomplicated decision."
Which 3 tracks are waterlogged?
or is this a Fundi/Savage special broadcast from CuckooLand?

I guess the 3 tracks being referred to is open to interpretation - as far as I'm aware we have 2 tracks at the Vaal (Classic and the 'original') and 2 tracks at Turffontein (Inner and Standside) - anyway it's now Monday morning at around 8:30 and it is still raining close to Randjies - which is water-logged - we have had soaking rains for days now since Thursday last week - with a break yesterday (Sunday) - so imo very unlikely that we will race tomorrow at the Vaal (maybe someone closer to the track can advise) and even Thursday - unless of course it stops raining today

Must say we have had constant rain for the last few days......
It never rains but it pours .....
It was a scary school trip between power outages, no robots, pouring rain and massive pot holes, it's certainly a challenge and the 15 min drive is nearly an hour.

Talking about tracks i see Diedricks has been made a Stipe (If it's the same guy)
Has he left his role as groundsman? Surely a conflict if just another income stream added
How many punters have they added as stipes?
