Importance of an In Studio Producer
2 years 1 month ago - 2 years 1 month ago
So I have been observing 240, and have noted the following.
Not sure who is the in studio producer today, but seemingly needs some refreshers.
1. When Neil and Nadine talk for ages, both pre and post race, this guy sticks with them until they stop talking, on full screen, and only once they decide they are done, does he switch over to international racing.
News flash MR PRODUCER, they are being guided by the clean feed. People watching them and listening to them are on course or watching the clean feed. USE your OWN discretion and cut them off.
2, Interviews on course. Someone has convinced all the presenters that they are Oprah Winfrey, and they try to drag on interviews for ages. Again, Mr 240 producer chooses to take in every interview fully until completion, until showing any international venues.
3, Commentator post race analysis. Race 4 at Fairview ran 3 mins before Ayr Race 1. Ayr was the start of the PA. Niko K, as is HIS job, did a post race analysis after they crossed the post, blah blah blah. Mr Producer chose to stick with this, and only crossed over to Ayr after Niko was done with his dissertation of the race. When Mr Producer finally did cross over, AYR Race 1 had already jumped. Surprise surprise, Ayr PA pool now less than R10k. the quartet for the race 1 not even over R2k. Why? Punters only bet when they see that the race is about to run, not after the race jumps.

This will definitely go over most heads here, but not those that know.
Today we have Brandon doing the producing. It is clear he is the only producer that knows the role they play both in making punters aware of upcoming races, and driving the pools.
The Newbury race is due 5 mins after Thirsk. I GUARANTEE you that the usual producer would play Thirsk full screen. Then cut to Newbury once close to jumping. Brandon, being the master, shows both on split screen.
FYI - The split screen tool is not some magic that only Brandon knows about. It is always available. It is just EASIER to not use it, as we have seen numerous times by others just putting up clean feeds full screen.
Well done Brandon - PLEASE TEACH THE OTHERS.

Nadine really knows her stuff, but I’m afraid there is just too much on raceday. This even disrupts the morning’s Aus racing. Then we have to listen to the same 10 minutes before and after each race. It’s pointless having a split screen if audio is on post race interviews.

This producer in today is just something else. Been missing all the UK action while we watched the empty parade ring for the last 20 mins.

Just heard Cecil shouting at the producer to start the UK broadcast. Amazing this still needs to be done.

Producer today is on point with the split screens throughout the morning, recording the KZN interview and playing it when the other races were over!!! WELL DONE.
Can someone find out who is producing today? So we can acknowledge their good work.

Producer today is on point. Split screens and never missing important visuals and commentaries. Wouldn't be surprised to find it is Brandon, but for continuity, I really hope it is one of the others (though I doubt it).
