Great Racing Weekend for Charles ?
2 years 1 month ago - 2 years 1 month ago
Good morning all.
I had to take a trip to my doctor to recover from my Road Trip to the Cape.
My normal doctor was on holiday and he had a younger replacement.
I think it's the first time he had an older patient that had multiple injuries from playing 10 pin bowling.
I always think that a trip to the docs is like taking your car for a service or trying to sell it?
You don't always want to tell the truth in case something is seriously wrong and you want to hide the truth of what you actually consume.
You just want a quick pill and early exit .
He had a look at my foot, checked my back and ribs and I had to explain I was trying my new bowling run up and lost my footing and flew over the lane and it was only the brick wall that slowed my momentum.
It would have been a classic video for Americans funniest home videos.
I certainly gave my friends a great laugh.
Back to the doctor, he was considering passing me up the chain to sonar, x_rays and MRI etc but I managed to convince him a Voltaren injection 💉 and some pain tablets were worth a shot .
I then discussed my overdue health position with all my other tablets and old age aliments.
Gout, high blood, sugar diabetes, cholesterol, etc etc .
I was sent for blood tests.
At this stage I am sure the young man was going to suggest a change in my lifestyle?
He probably thought if he does get me healthy he will lose a regular patient.
Plus I was thinking that I am currently doing a good job in creation of work via bottle stores and chemists.
So at this stage "every one is a winner "
However it is time that I did calm down a bit and Mrs S. has made a few changes.
My beloved bacon rolls are now salad on a cracker.
JWB has been downgrade to a health shake.
I also see a box with High Fibre which I have placed my cell phone beside to get a better signal during power cuts.
The news this morning is that a couple of adjustments to medications should see me OK for another year, providing I avoid places like bowling alleys.
To pay for the tablets I need to find a few winners and this weekend looks special although not easy.
Newmarket starts today where Appleby and Buick combination is a must for exotics with Native Trail, Majestic Pride, Hurricane Lane and Soprano another good mount for William and let's not forget Ryan on Infinite Cosmos as the best bet.
Glorious Goodwood also has a couple of banker considerations with Time Lock and Kolsai looking good.
On Saturday if you are not watching Charles at the Coronation you should be watching Charles at Greyville.
We have the WSB 400 Mt Dash from Greyville.
The Drill hall stakes and its very open but MDK should go close with Desert Miracle and stable companion Safe Passage to finish strongly and possibly shorten for July.
WSB Fillies Guineas where Golden Hostess will be favourite but add a few to the pick 6.
WSB also sponsors of the Guineas where the most talked about horse since Horse Chestnut is back on the track and CHARLES DICKENS should get back to winning ways but will be hoping Johno/Oscar can get a good run from Melech.
The Hollywood punters competition is generating plenty fun and interest to add to the excitement of racing these days and is worth a punt.
We have the 2000 and 1000 gns from Newmarket on Sat and Sunday .
When considering the 2000gns we always look at the Obrien runners to establish if we have a potential triple crown winner.
In my prime we had Vincent Obrien and Lester Piggott although the last time we had a triple crown winner was NIJINSKY in 1970 yes 53 years ago.
These days we have Aiden Obrien who is associated with Ryan Moore but this combination has only been successful once with Aiden being successful with other jocks.
Remember Lester won the Derby 9 times.
The potential triple crown winner this year is AUGUSTA RODIN and is the fav for the 2000gns on Sat.
I have tremendous respect for Little Big Bear and Ryan could be on the wrong one again?
Molly says I must punt Royal Scotsman.
Plus Frankie has Chaldean to make this a proper classic .
The 1000 gns is on Sunday where Tahiyra and Meditate are likely to fight out finish but I do fancy Dream of Love.
On the local front we have Fairview today where you can never go wrong Punting Richard Fourie.
In the States we also have the Kentucky Oaks and Derby if you are staying up late.
Wet Paint should be good to watch .
Forte is the favourite for the Derby.
Good Punting and may your God be with you🙏
Will leave you with a clip from Delboy visit to his doctor which brings back memories.

Cheers Bob you can confirm with Sue 🥳
I actually asked them to make a video of my bowling shot as I was very confident of a great shot .......
If they had it would have been a classic but was seriously painful 😪

Classic Dave. If you ever decide to, you definitely have a career as a comedy writer to wind down the years awaiting you. Subtle understated humour.
