Very good or great? As Paddington hits York.
1 year 9 months ago
Morning all as we start the Ebor festival four day meeting from York.
Day one gives us the Juddmonte and I am sure we are all rather disappointed that only 4 runners are in the field.
It's always possible to get an upset due to a false run race.
Paddington (7/10) fever hits York and he is certainly the horse to punt but will probably have to make the running for the Moore/Obrien machine.
However Mostahdaf is a very serious challenger and has strong form and considering he won the Prince of Wales impressively and has Frankie in the saddle.
On the subject of Frankie his farewell to racing has been spectacular and its possible he can win with Gregory and although another small field it's competitive.
As far as the other races on the card are concerned they are extremely difficult and today is probably not a good day for having a big punt.
If you fancy an exotic I would not recommend you take any massive perms.
My fancies to consider included in your perms:
1. Intrinsic Bond in the first race
2. Edwardian in the second.
3. Gregory the banker in third
4. Paddington you might be upset you miss this one at 7/10 not sure if the ARC is next but double figures are available.
5.Robert Johnson in the fifth.
6. Pinafore in the sixth
7. Starlust in the last.
If you fancy a punt
I am having a straight line PA for R100
3x3x1x3x10x8x3
Plus I am sure that I will crack under pressure and hit Paddington to feed my addiction.
Yesterday we had 200/1 and 100/1 winners in Ireland and on the local card but don't despair.
We have Savethelastdance and Highfield Princess (take 28/10) still to come this week.
Not sure if you have been watching the attendance on course at these smaller UK events but it's been fantastic and looks a real buzz. Have a look at the crowd this week at York.
Plus don't forget the Equus awards tonight which will be shown on channel 240 and look forward to watching Princess Calla receive the horse of the year award on what should be a spectacular evening.
Been watching the Sky news headlines that they have just had the first womb transplant.
Well I am sure if it becomes popular in SA we have an excess of donors from our political ranks .
Today's race could move Paddington from very good to great?
Just to remind us what a great horse is, watch Frankel winning the Juddmonte in 2012 when he made it 13 from 13
Good Punting 👍

YORK
R1 Equilateral has run in better company, chance.Vintage Clarets owes me a fortune but INTRINSIC BOND opened at 12/1 yesterday and is now 6/1.
R3 Castle Way improver but GREGORY my choice as long as jockey get's it right.
R4 Race best watched as price of PADDINGTON prohibitive.
Probable false pace and if selection doesn't win will probably finish last
like O'Brien hotpots tend to!!
R5 Dermot Weld respected especially as GRAPPA NINO receives weight all
round.
R7 Leave this to well backed ZABRISKIE POINT with Charlie Hills/Will Buick.

7/10 Paddington in a four-horse field could be a bargain.

Some really nice longshot runners throughout the day .... and with the massive swinger pools this could be the way to go.
Leicester race 2 Wonderful Lives x Aztec Empire my main double. Longshots I mixed in patents and yankees are Ticketyboo , La Pugla, Vadamiah ....... along with Intrinsic Control and Gregory

I reckon if Moore goes to the front on Paddington he will get rolled. Must run in first three then I fancy my chances for the P/A ....
