If I Could Change the World

Good morning all as Scotia still wants to change the world before we head into the Rugby šŸ‰ world cup quarter finals.

I know I shouldn't watch the news and have sleepless nights about events I can do nothing about.

We appear to go from one major humanitarian disaster to another and some are caused by nature but it's the self inflicted that are hard to comprehend.

I have had a busy week with the school run back to normal and hair product sales going well to keep me active.

As far as the horses and weather is concerned we still badly need some decent rain up North and only the Vaal racecourse was blessed with a massive downpour?Ā

It's PE today after again being moved to the poly where the lady trainers are worth following.Ā

We have a double header on Saturday with Turffontien inside with some good racing and MDK can get the punters off to a flyer.

Durbanville in the Cape also has a decent card.

Again weather permitting šŸ™

The overseas highlight will beĀ  Newmarket where City of Troy runs in the Dewhurst but its a pity Vandeek won't be in the lineup.Ā

Check the forum for all the other overseas options.Ā

We have ante post markets for the Summer Cup and the Met in addition to the

Breeders Cup on the 5th NovĀ

Auguste Rodin ( also Japan Cup option)Ā

Paddington ( might clash with Tahiyra in the Queen Elizabeth 21st October)Ā

Ushba TesoroĀ

Where is Equinox heading?Ā

Australia don't have much interest in sport, so the focus is on racing I therefore recommend that you set your alarm for tomorrow morning for CaulfieldĀ

Alligator Blood runs at 6.45 and has to beat Just Fine and Duais in what should be a great race.

The Caulfield Cup is on the 21st Oct and the

Cox Plate on the 28th OctoberĀ

Melbourne Cup is on the 7th Nov where Vauban continues to shorten.Ā

Would be a good double with Ireland šŸ‡®šŸ‡Ŗ šŸ˜‰

No changes in Rugby as far as the betting and the shortest price for the final appears to be Ireland vs France but nothing wrong with Ireland vs Boks.

It's a pity the games are rather late and I hope the video replays don't go over the top with detail as there is nothing worse than scoring a try then the conversion to then be told there was a foul 5 mins before the try and it was missed 😪

So keeping away from the news we found ourselves watching Prime TV last night.

There is a section that has documentaries on music and we selected the Beatles,Ā  Fleetwood Mac and Eric Clapton.Ā

It brought back many memories including watching Cream live in the late 60s .

Eric was certainly one of my favourite artists and here he is with a great acoustic version of Change the WorldĀ

Good Punting šŸ‘Ā

Never believed in stress but lately I see that it does work on a person when watching the news. Can't stop though.

The world that we live in and have always lived in is for the ā€œhavesā€ This week for example former head of F1 Bernie Eccelstone was found guilty on a count of Ā£400 million fraud. His punishment? A 17 month suspended sentence. On the other hand a peaceful protestor in London was taken to court under the new Brexit Gov laws for protesting. No damage no screaming just protesting about climate change His punishment is 2 years jail time.

Good morning after a rather long social weekend.Ā

Firstly let me say thank you for the birthday wishes and gifts.

I found myself with 5 bottles of JWB, 4 jars of mussels brought back from a Scottish fish and chip shop, orange chocolate,Ā  gift vouchers for restaurants and my son gave me a Springbok hat and scarf.Ā

He says it would give me a great team to support after Scotlands exit.

As far as the Rugby šŸ‰ this weekend.Ā

What a feast and what a game last night.

Rugby fever has certainly gripped the country and a great injection to lift everyone's spirits.Ā
I am starting to prefer rugby over football but not keen on the scrum .

It would be fair to say that we were treated to two games that were fit for the semi finals or even a final and with the unbalanced structure of fixtures and draw we move to possible mismatches in the actual semi final games.

Appropriate latest prices :Ā

SA evensĀ

NZ 12/10

England 14/1Ā

Argentina 50/1Ā

Argentina 10/1 NZ 1/10Ā

England 5/1 SA 1/5Ā

HandicapĀ

Argentina +17.5

England +12.5Ā

The games are on Friday and Saturday at 8.00 with the Boks on Saturday.Ā

We had some heavy thunder and lightning last night as well as the Boks and some reasonable rain 🌧

City of Troy was very special in the Dewhurst and has gone evens for the 2000 gns on Saturday the 4th May.

Weather permitting a decent card at Durbanville with a few bankers today

Good Punting šŸ‘

Dave, unless posted elsewhere, you gave no kudos for Scotland qualifying for Euro 2024.
