Re: URGENT UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF INTERIM SUSPENSION – TRAINER TONY PETER
1 year 8 months agoAaah, the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back for me. I am done punting. For 34 years i've loved this game since my dearly departed Dad took me to my first meeting at Arlington. Pity it ended on such a note like this past saturday. Cést La Vie!!!![]()
Don't let SA racing put you off punting. You not the first one who has stated they have had enough of this bullshit after this thread and the other one where started.
Play HK twice a week. You will get your zest back for horse racing. There is so much information and available. You can even check the trials the horses prepare with. Not those stupid ones we had here that where used for the trainers to put bookies off so they could get a good price first time out.Even podcasts from top class tipsters.
Everything is above board there,no doping,no instructions to jockeys to give the horse a easy ride to manipulate the MR,just straight out every horse running to merit and trying to win.You try cheat you gone no questions asked.
Results differ from time to time but you can be assured most times your horse comes to the races fit and you have top class jockeys riding them so you will get a run for your money.
And when it comes down to it, the same percentages of fancied runners win in Hong Kong as do in South Africa, FACT!
Can't be

In Hong Kong trainers are only allowed to give vitamins and such orally. They are not allowed to inject a horse.Vets are employed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club and as a trainer you are able to "chose" a vet that you get along with. Thus "your vet" will do all other treatments for lameness, pulled muscles , pre race treatments etc. The withdrawal periods are longer than in SA. Bute is still used as an anti inflammatory treatment as well.

The puzzling and damaging Petergate saga continues after Saturday’s Betway Summer Cup day, with the NHA having lifted the interim suspension imposed late on Sunday evening on trainer Tony Peter, but then bouncing back on Monday evening with news of a related Inquiry.
The racing regulator advised that an Inquiry has been opened into the circumstances behind the fact that despite trainer Tony Peter being advised on Saturday to present selected runners for the taking of pre-race specimens, his race 8 runner Flying Bull was not presented for the collection of specimens – they say, despite him being reminded of this requirement.
The Sporting Post has been informed that no calls were made – a whatsapp message was apparently despatched by the Stipes at 14h40, when Tony Peter was in a meeting with his legal counsel.
His Dad Paul Peter told the Sporting Post on Monday evening that Tony had in fact approached NHA Racing Control Executive Arnold Hyde on Saturday morning, with a request to test all of his runners, after the unprecedented scratching of the balance of his horses from the third race.
“Flying Bull was not on course as he was only carded in race 8. Thus he was not there when the likes of Street Art, Main Defender and Captain Hindsight were tested,” explained Paul Peter.
He said that Tony Peter had left Turffontein at 12h30.
“He was naturally upset and left the racecourse to meet his legal counsel for an urgent meeting. His phone was on silent as he was being inundated with calls and was in a meeting. The whatsapp – yes only a whatsapp – was received from the Stipes at 14h40. No effort was made by any official to call Tony and request that he present Flying Bull. By the time he went through his calls and messages , it was late and there were no Grooms available either.”
So where to from here?

Apologies I was just highlighting the fact that the horse was noted in stipes report after last win. 9 days prior and Arnie was copied on the stipes report.
