According to Gallop, it's a Cross/Headwind.

A Lotto-like card at the Vaal (but of course that's when one makes some dough IF you pick 1 or 2 of the roughies and they arrive)
R1: Secret Chord tries blinkers (and finding market support) after he hung badly in the finish last time - could be the right one; first-timer an unknown; I do think Atarime could improve in his 2nd start - made up a whole lot of ground in the last 400m on debut and should know more about it this time - looks the value imo
R2: Trainer of Red Knot has only a few runners - will be keen to make an impression for Drakenstein; I do prefer the Tarry runner French Duchess who had some good runs and might have needed her last start
R3: Difficult - but I think the betting is wrong - favorite Duke of Rock held on form by After Hours and Jet Cat, while Samoa is well in here and probably better over 1200 - of course backing a 9yr old mare is fraught with danger and she has not been running that great in her last few starts; What a Tiger has good form, but there is some doubt about the 1200; I think one needs to load up even to survive the PA
R4: Not easy, but at least a smaller field; both Danilo Danilovitch and Mover and Shaker make some appeal, while Captain Hindsight is holding form very well and can't be ignored; I'm not sure that Rulership is in this league, but I have been wrong before
R5: This does seem to lie between Guy Gibson, Reny and Hawkbill on ratings; not sure how ready Reny is and also not convinced that Guy GIbson will stay the 1700, so I am in the camp of Hawkbill
R6: Imo this looks evenly matched; On the Horizon goes for 4 in a row, and that alone is difficult, but she does seem well in here; not sure how the race is going to be run as both Twin Turbo with the apprentice and Street Art like to go handy, so they might cut each other's throat; George Handel not that far out at the weights imo, and as am improving 3 yr-old he gets my vote
R7: A race akin to the Lotto; I did point out Brave Viking in another post, but the stable form is a concern, as well as the draw - unsure where the best going will be on the day; anyway BV is held by Another Level who could be a nice each-way stab if one HAS to get involved
R8: The Africa House imo will be better suited to this trip; but I think me might be a few points too high in the ratings; many however are under sufferance, so I'm taking an each-way stab at Argo Alley - taken out of the 7th, so connections hopefully think he has a better chance here
R9: Boom-Boom looks to be the right one; perhaps Beguiling can make the Quartet and Trifecta (and even the Exacta) pay
Enjoy

Hello Everyone
Saturday 09th December 2023 ... Vaal Main Track
15:45 Race 07: WORLD SPORTS BETTING GRAND HERITAGE - Distance 1475m
3 Val D'Orcia .. Ran a cracker of a race in penultimate start coming from last to finish an eye catching 3rd in a Pinnacle Stakes race over 1400m at Turffontein Standside track, won its last start over 1200m at this course sporting blinkers which have been removed?. Place chance at the best as stable mate seems to be hogging the limelight as far as the betting market is concerned.
10 Unzen .. Ran a cracker in a graduation plate over 1400m at Turffontein Standside last time, has got very good turn of foot and the long straight should suit.
Both horses are at longer odds and think decent price for places.
Have a good day at the races
Warm Regards
