Caught in a Trap

Good morning all and it's our first weekend back in Pretoria for over a month.

We were having a few modifications done to the kitchen when we were away but the builders got caught with the Xmas shutdown and left a huge mess which then caught us in a trap i.e. we couldn't go back after a record breaking 6 hrs trip back from KZN in very mild traffic and we couldn't stay because of the mess. Thank the Lord for very good friends who came to our rescue.

We had a fantastic break with the Grandkids and family and the Cotswold Downs estate is stunning including the clubhouse.

As far as our racing is concerned it appears the NHRA could also be caught in a legal trap as far as the articles in Sporting Post goes and many suspicious minds.

The Peter saga has certainly taken the spotlight from racing and moved the sport into a political arena which we hope won't cause further damage to racing's tarnished imagine.

The darts was very special and the new kid on the block, 16 year old Luke Littler's performance was incredible and caused a few suspicious minds to check out his passport but what a fantastic boost for the game he has given.

Let's not forget the performance of Warren Kennedy who also highlighted the wealth of jockeys we in SA have produced when he won 7 races on the day in his new home in NZ.
On the subject of great jocks we have the dream team Robert's and Strydom teaming up to try and win the Kings (Queens Plate).

Racing today is from PE .

We have great local racing this weekend as the UK is pending the weather.

Saturday is Kenilworth, a full house looks guaranteed to see the clash between See It Again and Charles Dickens.
Plus Princess Calla the possible banker for pick 6 which looks catchable.
Don't forget the ABC fun competition 😉

Scottsville and Turffontien double header on Sunday should keep us glued to channel 240 where we have the much anticipated clash between Main Defender and Sandringham Summit.
Zeus and Champagne Cocktail should also guarantee a good attendance.

All the best to all in 2024 as we try and get back to normal and hopefully don't get caught in a trap

Good Punting 👍
