WSB MET 2024

Good afternoon all as we prepare for the WSB MET of 2024.

All I can say it's not the strongest of fields and just looking back at some old videos and in particular Horse Chestnut who demolished a very strong field including July winners in 1999.

I have had a good look at the pick 6 on Met day and for a change it does not look difficult?
An affordable perm is normally difficult to find but I find myself with a R36 perm and feel I am slightly over playing.

The other option is to take the field in the Met as I have 15/10 on See It Again to cover any surprises.

Details of runners below but it's disappointing that the Randjies horses are not able to make the trip but fortunately Princess Calla has been in the Cape for 3 months and the Tony Peter's horse Bavarian Beauty was already on the float.

MET thoughts pick 6

First leg:
At My Command and Quasiforsure should fight it out but an upset is a possibility.

Second leg:
Winter Cloud is my banker but feel free to add your fancies.

Third Leg:
Isivunguvungu, Thunderstruck and Dyce to fight out the finish.

Forth Leg:
Princess Calla could be a banker but add Beach Bomb and Red Palace to be on safe side.

Fifth leg :
Match between Bavarian Beauty and Tail of the Comet.

Last leg: has to be See It Again

4-6
5
4-8-9
4-5-11
8-10
11

R36 plus a PA and Bipot should be considered.

Other options;
Go small and take the field for the Met.

Plus if you find yourself under pressure play Nebraas to get your money 💰 back.

What about Drecus for President?
Loved his interview with a young lass overseas in connection with our current Government.

I did notice on sky news there are now pills or injections to help with assistance for suicide in cases that should be worthy of the call 🙏
Families and doctors should have permission to perform this procedure.

I have lost interest with Dubai racing, possibly due to Ali not being there and keeping us updated but I look forward to watching Auguste Rodin running.

We have Cheltenham in March and I will be doing a post shortly to get us in the mood...

Just a reminder re the HWOOD punters competition and our own fun challenge.

Just to get us in the MET mood
Here is a blast from the past.

Can See It Again win with same authority?

Good Punting 👍

I am all for assisted dying as I have seen far too many people suffer until the bitter end. Imagine sitting in a chair having locked in syndrome  or your arthritis is so bad that you can hardly move from the constant pain. The politicians don’t care until it arrives at their doorstep. Switzerland here I come when the time arrives.

After listening to Bloomberg I might add a couple in the Bavarian race, you can't keep the Peter clan out the spotlight.

Plus a few replies to my view on assisting suicide.
I am sure there are many cases where this is totally justified and nobody wants to be a burden on their families but sometimes when you are stuck in intensive care you have past the stage of being able to make the call.

It's humane to have your dog or animal put down and the same rule should apply to humans.

I am certainly not trying to say that this should be made available eg to Man United fans 😀
