Cheltenham less than a month away👍
1 year 3 months ago
Good morning all and now that Valentines Day is behind us we can focus back on racing.
We really do have a feast for punters over the next few weeks.
World Cup from Dubai:
The quality of the fields are picking up as we head towards the World Cup night.
Local racing:
Has also been good recently and yesterday's reappearance of Main Defender did not disappoint in terms of drama and we were delighted to see the John Finlayson horse Melech win a good race.
Also delighted to see "Johno" supporting Zietsman in PE.
Where I understand that Gold Quest is a flying machine today.
The triple crown/tiara has our attention and Gimme A Nother does look like Tiara material however I have a slight doubt that Sandringham Summit can do the Derby distance.
The Cape Derby is also on the radar and Green With Envy very hard to beat.
Racing from Turffontien and Kenilworth on Saturday where Bless the Stars and Blue Bay look bankers.
Cheltenham:
It's less than a month away and the Irish invasion headed by Willie Mullins look ready to clean up 12th to 15th March.
Day One
Supreme Novice: where BALLYBURN looks a banker.
Arkle: Marine Nationale still tops the boards but we are hoping the Hollywood horse IL ETAIT TEMPS can win again.
Champion Hurdle: CONSTITUTION HILL is the obvious banker but Mullins has State Man ready to challenge.
Mares Hurdle: LOSSIEMOUTH another banker on day one.
Day Two:
Champion Chase: EL FABIOLO another banker.
Bumper: stick with Mullins.
Day Three:
Cross Country chase -
DELTA WORK always worth a punt.
Day Four :
Triumph: SIR GINO the banker.
Gold Cup: GALOPIN DES CHAMPS impossible to oppose but SHISHKIN is also a special horse.
Lots more to follow as we count the days.
Rugby:
Scotland really deserved to beat France and I have no doubt that they are currently playing better than the English and are worth a decent punt at Murrayfield.
Ireland will win the six Nations.
As far as the planet is concerned and after watching SONA I remain very depressed.
It's a bit concerning how the ANC are sure they are doing a wonderful job and all evidence contradicts this belief.
On the World stage the innocent continue to die.
Russia/Ukraine has become old news.
The Middle East is becoming a massive crisis stemming from the Israel/Palestine conflict.
Sundan is a humanitarian disaster with unbelievable numbers.
SA are sending troops to the DRC.
In fact my call for assisted suicide is on the back burner as it appears it won't be required with the speed we are killing each other...

Good Punting 👍
