Mr L W Karriem fined R35 000 - Flunixin

PRESS RELEASE   FINDINGS OF PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE

The National Horseracing Authority confirms a Prohibited Substance finding which is aligned with its decision to publish the status of all Prohibited Substance matters from the commencement of the new Racing Season.

The presence of Flunixin (Class 4) was disclosed upon analysis of a specimen taken from TAMIL TIGRESS prior to the running of the 6th race at Turffontein Racecourse on 2 March 2024.  The Trainer responsible, Mr L W Karriem, elected to sign an Admission of Guilt and was fined an amount of R35 000.

Furthermore, in terms of Rule 72.3.2 TAMIL TIGRESS, which was unplaced, was disqualified from the abovementioned race.
