2024/2025 Jocks Trainers and Aapies

In 1st 4 days we have seen

97 Trainers come out and play. Last season was 119 over the course of the 12 months
47 Jockeys have had a ride so far. few on suspension. Last season 67 rode. 6 of those visitors.
8 Aapies have been given a chance. Last season 18 rode

We have some real aapies among the appies.

Some disgusting stats among the 4kg claimers, some in their 3rd year. Time to choose another career why does the academy not bomb those that will clearly never ride their claim

I don't know the stats at all...but maybe some will become adept at other facets of the game...It is probably the only entrance into racing if you are not "born" into it...IDK...just asking...

Trainers
Western Cape at present have 23 active trainers. Glen Puller last to close shop
Eastern Cape at present 12 ,plus Leon Lotz active trainers. Montana Turner has not raced since 2 July
KZN at present have 30 active trainers. Badenhorst and T.Pretorius Have not raced for a long time. Excluded satellite yards and Pandaram yard.
Gauteng at present have 45 trainers. Moffatt last to close shop. However there are 8 that must be running on the fumes of fumes after last season. Greyling and Pandram could be added here. Making it 47

so that puts us at 112 active.

Best Guess at this stage.

Jockeys are fluid but no more than 58 are active at present.
Appies no more than 15 active at present.

So end Month 1 of 12

113 trainers had one runner or more. That seems to be all of them. I see Zaki has stopped training in Mauritius.
55 Jocks and 13 aapies rode at least once.
Horses 1714 ran at least once. That equates to 37% of horses raced last year in just one month.
Owners Hollywood off to a flying start with 16 winners in August.

2850 horses have now raced 430 more than by end October.2 year olds will be coming out to play soon.
Hollywoodbets 32 winners at the end October. Quiet 2nd half of the month.
