Catch Me If You Can 🤪

Good morning all!

I tuned in again to Aidan O'Brien after City of Troy’s (5/2 tops) public gallop at Southwell. It seems the plan is to run the American (Fierceness) and Japanese (Forever Young) stars off their feet with some "catch me if you can" tactics! At the Breeders Cup.
Let's not forget Isivunguvungu in the sprint (20/1 ew) If you can find it.😉

Also, O’Brien is sending only his St Leger winner, Jan Brueghel (12/1) to the Melbourne Cup to challenge the Willie Mullins star, Vauban (10/1) Meanwhile, Constitution Hill (7/4) is being heavily backed for the Champion Hurdle after some positive comments from Henderson on his wellbeing. Look out for Whistlejacket (11/10) running at Newmarket on Saturday – another likely Group 1 winner for O’Brien and Moore in the Middle Park Stakes.
In the other group 1 Cheveley we have Lake Victoria (Obrien) vs Babouche.
We also have a massive field of 35 for the Cambridgeshire where Bennetot with Billy Loughnane is worth ew.
The ARC has lost a bit sparkle but Obrien might send Los Angeles to take his place.

In other news, the theme for the WSB Met has been released after the BETWAY Summer Cup. As punters, it feels like we’re caught between buying clothes or horses! Still waiting to see who the runners will be, but excitement is building.

Locally, we’ve got a feast of racing this weekend with double-headers on both Friday and Saturday:
We have Jackpot carryovers, details on site.

Friday:

PE: Best bets – Greenlight Dancer, Sweet Cake, On My Honour.
Fingers crossed for El Romiachi despite the tough task ahead.
Greyville: Look out for Coral Blaze and Field Marshal as strong contenders.
Saturday:

Turffontein: Expect early favourites like Blizzard Snow, Inspector James, Fireburst, and Ichacha to give punters a great start.
Durbanville: Symphony in White and Gimmies Countess should stand out.
Switching gears to rugby, the Springboks should clinch the Championship on Saturday, but I think the bookies have the handicap wrong. Argentina +18.5 points seems like the better bet.

As for football, Arsenal have shown Man City can be beaten. Many (except City fans) will be rooting for Newcastle to make it tough for them at the intimidating St James’ Park.

On a final note, the world remains in turmoil, and it's hard to predict what comes next. Let’s hope for better times.
We appear hell bent on destroying each other 😢
Locally Tshwane on the "BRINK" of disaster 😢

If you haven’t seen it, check out the classic film "Catch Me If You Can" with Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Based on a true story, it's absolutely brilliant! Here's the real Frank: Watch here.

Good punting everyone! 👍

P.S.: Movie highlights here: Watch here
