Grass length? 5 inches 🤔

Might be a silly question 🤔

I have never heard of a race meeting being stopped due to length of grass.
A quick Google gave me approx 5 inches

However I have seen thick grass on many UK tracks and understand that can change the going .

Is this a first off or does it happen elsewhere?
do we have lawn mowers to keep the grass a certain height 🤔
