TURFFONTEIN Sunday moved to Monday

Please be advised that the Turffontein race meeting originally scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2025, has been postponed to Monday, February 24, 2025.

Following a track inspection this afternoon, it was found that certain sections of the track are inconsistent and waterlogged.

We are confident that, provided there is no further rainfall, the meeting will proceed on Monday. 

However, it is important to note that the Inside Track at Turffontein and the Vaal Classic track have drained more effectively than the Standside Track. 

In the event of additional rainfall tomorrow, an alternative option could be to move the meeting to one of these tracks on Monday.

New race times will be disseminated asap.

Massive interest in this meeting ...{peers around ... fails to locate a living soul...closes door on the way out}

Missed the first race but took a double (R1) Arashi x (R2) Emerald Forge.

Also had a punt on (R7) Rondebosch (10/1), hoping the weight and draw gives him a shout.

Mostly guesswork as the rain must have wreaked havoc with work - I'm staking a stab on Jordan each-way in the 9th - the extra allowance from Venniker would have helped, but still at decent odds imo 

R3 Mizzen Sword ew my best for today. I took 8/1 & I see it has started to shorten in the betting.

I also fancy that - but the trainer tried to put everyone off saying he fancies Rondebosch - though in the 3rd Zackey was on the right one ...
