: Please be advised that Turffontein received an additional 11mm of rainfall overnight.
Gallops will take place at around 7:30 AM, after which a decision will be made regarding today's meeting

Abandoned

Further to the above message.

While we initially planned to proceed with gallops at around 7:30 AM, we have encountered surface water on the track after completing a full track inspection , making it unsuitable and unsafe for galloping.

Given these conditions, and the poor forecast today, the decision has been made to abandon today's meeting at Turffontein meeting.

Again one has to ask why there was no local racing scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) - could they not have postponed the meeting again to tomorrow - prediction is for the sun to grace us with its presence ...
