Rob Hersov granted Betting exchange license for South Africa.

Will look out for the media release. 

 

? I thought there was a deal in place for a betting exchange ( Bortz) but it could only be run by operators?

.....watched this and nearly every other Rob Hersov interview which frankly is becoming overly repetitive and although I was once a big fan until he became all for Trump....and found it unlikely for him to go down that sort of avenue(Bet EX) and may have missed the section making such claims....initially I was keen to learn of his back story as my maternal grandfather was heavily involved with Anglo Vaal in that he sold his business/s to Anglo Vaal in the late 60's and as seconded to their board and was instrumental in them making investments in downstream steel product fabrication
.....Rob being a proclaimed minimalist would not want to complicate matters by getting involved with business outside of his purview and expertise.....

Maybe BETFAIR !! 

Heading very misleading - Keith Ho is BetXchange -

My apologies on the heading. It sounded like a betexchange. similar to Betfair.

The last I heard Rob Hersov say is that he won’t invest anymore in a business in South Africa . Although the last year he has become so political and chops and changes.
I do agree with Mr Hawaii about the heading as I thought for a moment it was the bookmaker that I mostly use

Bortz and partners already have the go ahead to run a betting exchange

TBH, don't know a punter who uses betfair these days

Betfair horse racing turnover has been dropping for years, as UK KYC and anti-gambing sentiment has taken hold.


   


I doubt there is enough traffic in SA to allow a dedicated exchange to be useful.



Avg horse race market vol was gbp 600k in 2019, now half that.
