SCOTLAND V SOUTH AFRICA

RUGBY
SCOTLAND V SOUTH AFRICA
Scotland are once again 20-point underdogs for a match at home against southern hemisphere opposition. Last week New Zealand battered them. This week it's South Africa's turn.
BETTING
Outright
Scotland 8.5/1
Draw 55/1
South Africa Handicap
Scotland +18.5 at 19/20
South Africa -18.5 at 19/20

BETTING VERDICT
No bet. The Boks should be the side to back on this handicap but the erratic nature of their recent performances suggests that this game is best avoided from a betting perspective.

SUGGESTED BET
No bet. If you're one of those punters who absolutely has to have something on the game, then backing the talent, skills and experience of the Boks looks like the way to go. They are in a different league to Scotland and, if White were the coach, the 18-point victory would have been the suggested bet.
Keep your wager small, though.

SOCCER
PSL: SATURDAY BETS
Chiefs fans can get a 160% return on investment!
Kaizer Chiefs are narrow favourites in this weekend's big derby and our PSL tipster reckons they will be too hot for Pirates.
AMAZULU v BAY UNITED

BETTING Amazulu 11/10 Draw 22/10 Bay United 7/2
VERDICT: Bay United look vulnerable and I make Amazulu good things to grab a win hopefully by a couple of goals.
Bet: 3 units Amazulu at 11/10
CHIEFS v PIRATES

BETTING Chiefs 16/10 Draw 5/2 Pirates 18/10
VERDICT: This should be an absolute cracker of a match and my money is on Chiefs who have shown some great form and are starting to look the part. I have still not been convinced by Pirates and while I acknowledge that there will not be much separating them I am going for Chiefs to win by an odd goal.
Bet: 2 units Chiefs win at 16/10
SUPERSPORT v WITS

BETTING Wits 24/10 Draw 24/10 Supersport 13/10
VERDICT: I can't go with Supersport on current form and for me it is a toss up between the draw and Wits. I am going with the former as I think this will be very tight and that both sides will end up settling for a point.
Bet: 2 units on the draw at 24/10
AJAX v FREE STATE STARS

BETTING Ajax 19/20 Draw 5/2 Free State Stars 7/2
VERDICT: I can't look past a home win here - Ajax by a couple.
Bet: 3 units Ajax to win at 19/20

HORSE RACING
IT'S THE LOSING STREAK THAT BINDS US
Leon Setaro looks for value
Looking out the window this (Friday) morning I was surprised to see wide skies and a clear sunrise. Last night we received another violent storm-lashing with fireworks as the rain poured down much like the previous evening’s show. Swimming in spring rains we are and a visit to Summerveld yesterday morning yielded little as trainers were nowhere to be seen. Aside from the mud and water there was the odd grass gallop on the go and a string or two out for a stroll.. but that was it – shop closed. I did manage to pick up comments from a few trainers, including Dylan Cunha to whom I passed on all manner of sympathy for his crushing by the fates last weekend. His two main contenders, both of which were featured in last week’s article, ended up non-runners. Odds on penalty kick Gold Game picked up a foot abscess and had to be scratched, whilst Citizen Dante made the 600km long haul up to JHB for the Victory Moon, only to ground his pilot like a terrorist jet and launch through the starting stalls for a solo around the Turffontein racetrack. And so this is the game of horseracing; for punter, trainer, jockey or owner, rest assured that you are not alone when the Losing Streak comes a calling.
