Rule 93.1 of the
National Horseracing Authority (NHA) of Southern Africa
mandates a suspension from racing for a specific period for a horse that has returned with a bilateral epistaxis (bleeding from both nostrils) due to an exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH).
This rule is strictly applied and results in a mandatory stand-down period, typically 60 days, during which the affected horse is ineligible to race in any event under the NHA's jurisdiction. The primary purpose is to protect the health and welfare of the horse, as well as to maintain the integrity of horseracing in the region. The decision is made based on the report from the Veterinary Surgeon present at the race meeting
Another massive NHRA failure.

Re: FAIRVIEW FRIDAY 19TH DECEMBER 2025
1 month 2 weeks agoLooks like he came off the rail on the turn, looked before moving back onto the rail to get a clean run. If more jocks would look before moving there would likely be fewer clipped heals and broken fetlocks, this last Summer Cup being a prime example.CheersHe looked right, maybe making sure there was space before moving onto the rail for his run? What was Richard looking for in the Terminal Velocity race ?
I will post the replay and watch the entire race 😉

1 month 2 weeks agoBusy with family sorry delayed
The eventual winner was hanging inwards when Richard was bringing his horse to the outside .Went towards the rail to prevent an incident .Can't see anything wrong with the ride though .
