Would I Lie to You? 🤔

I hope everyone is keeping well. 😊
I promise I'll try not to lie to you, although the highlight of my weekend was Scotland keeping the score respectable against South Africa and, more importantly, covering the handicap! 👍
That said, in fairness, Scotland played very well against what was effectively a South African B team.
The Springboks' squad depth is simply incredible. If they were allowed to field two international teams, I honestly think they'd be ranked first and second in the world.
Looking ahead to this weekend
New Zealand vs Ireland – I'll take Ireland with the handicap.
Fiji vs Scotland – Scotland should have too much quality, and I'll back them on the handicap.
South Africa vs Wales – I can only see one-way traffic. Wales could be in for a very long afternoon. 🙄
Football World Cup
The tournament is coming to an end. While it hasn't quite matched rugby for me in terms of excitement, it's been a huge success from both an organisational and attendance perspective.
France remain favourites, but the semi-finals look incredibly tight and could easily go either way.
Tonight it's France vs Spain on Bastille Day, followed by England vs Argentina tomorrow. It doesn't get much bigger than that.
Horse Racing
There's plenty to discuss on the racing front, with top-class action from Longchamp tonight as France celebrates its national day.
The World...
The world continues to feel like it's in a political mess, which reminded me of an old Billy Connolly sketch, Is Cannibalism the Answer?
His tongue-in-cheek solution to the world's problems was simple:
"We have a food problem and a population problem... so eat each other."
Unemployment? Start with the unemployed.
Prisons are overcrowded? Eat the criminals... although in South Africa we'd need some very large portions!
Homelessness? Well, there are plenty more options...
And if none of that works, there's always the Trump card. 🙄🤔
Thankfully, it's all comedy!

One of my favourite programmes remains Would I Lie to You? The chemistry and banter between David Mitchell and Lee Mack never gets old.
