Deserve a Drum Roll 👏👍

I think the past week deserves a drum roll!
We've witnessed some superb achievements:
The Springboks continue to prove why they're the best in the world.
The Junior Springboks are World Champions – a fantastic achievement.
Romantic Warrior has retired after an extraordinary career: 31 starts, 24 wins, five second places and an incredible £25.7 million in prize money. What a champion.
Josh Kerr of Edinburgh broke the world mile record – a remarkable performance.
Spain were deserved winners of the FIFA World Cup after a superb campaign.
If you've been watching the Madlanga Commission, Ongie Gusha's impersonations have been absolutely brilliant.
We also said goodbye to Kevin Keegan, a true footballing legend. Rest in peace. 🌟🙏
On the health front, it was Mrs Scott's turn for a hospital visit.
Remarkably, it fell on exactly the same date that I was discharged last year – Sue's birthday! Thankfully, it was only for a dental procedure, although, as always, the medical profession managed to perform a little "open wallet surgery" on the Scotts.
Getting older certainly isn't recommended! 😕
On a much brighter note, some friends are heading off on a road trip and have invited us to join them, so August is shaping up to be a very happy and exciting month.
I'm also looking forward to a terrific day's racing from Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday .The Gold Cup meeting looks an outstanding card.
I'll post my Pick 6 horses to include and my fancies for the day on the daily thread.
Finally, a word about Rowan Atkinson.
I've been a fan ever since the Not the Nine O'Clock News days and his incredible one-man stage performances. While Mr Bean was a worldwide commercial success, it was never really my favourite. For me, Rowan Atkinson is simply a comic genius.
