Hear The Drums..21 wins

I alway thought of PE a place to send horses who need an opportunity to stay, but I take my hat of to a centre that facilitates the possibility of a very good horse to win 21 races.

While the rest of the country has gone so handicap mad that we see horses getting weight in MR66's etc, in PE we see exactly what makes racing a great spectator sport...21 wins!! Brilliant.

Great news, well done to the connections. How many did "goofy" win?

a Great achievement by Hear the Drums. I would however not compare this to Golden Loom's achievements. GL did his in top company.

They mentioned that Goofy won 22.

I agree that Hear The Drums isn't quite up to the level of Golden Loom, but it is still an achievement beyond many others. H.T.D doesn't look finished yet either...

When he made the trip to the Cape Flying Champship Gr 1 in Jan, he was only beaten 1.85 behind O'Caesour, a mere 0.60 behind Mythical Flight and a head behind Rebel King...he runs of a MR 114...he's no slouch posting sub 58sec 1000m's often and a 56.54 once if we can trust the clock

Record of Golden Loom was 22 wins from 77 starts for R2.7 M in prize money.
The "current" record for Hear the Drums is 21 wins from 42 starts!

wow!

Great horse, but I reckon, you cant equate his merit rating of 114 to that of a horse of the same rating in either Gauteng / WCape or Kzn.
His rating has to be reviewed and adjusted to his national performance. Unfair to the horse when he raids handicaps

no matter where the horse is campaigning to have a 50% win strike rate after 42 runs is a credit to the trainer and Hear the Drums...well done to both of them
