Latest from Justin on Dancers Daughter!

South Africa: Cape Town trainer Justin Snaith blames "intimidation" and a "flat run" for Dancer's Daughter's shock defeat at 1-4 in the Paddock Stakes at Kenilworth last Saturday.

But he confirmed on Monday that the British-bred mare, a daughter of ActOne, will still take on the mighty Pocket Power in the J&B Met on January 31 and vowed that "the fight is not over yet."

Snaith said: "There is nothing serious wrong with her at all and indeed she has come out of the race better than I could have asked for.

"Saturday's race didn't quite go to plan," he added. "She got intimidated by some of the other horses - one jockey was cutting her off and another was running into the back of her - and it was a flat run.

"I think it was just one of those days but I know her well and I know what I need to do. She will be back for the Met and I can assure you that the fight is not over yet."

With Bernard Fayd'herbe committed to Pocket Power, Snaith has booked Kevin Shea for the mount in the Met.

Shea rode Dancer's Daughter when she dead-heated with Pocket Power in last season's Durban July.

The local bookmakers have reacted to her shock defeat at the hands of Emblem Of Liberty last Saturday by pushing her out 4-1 (from 2) and shortening Pocket Power to 7-10 (from evens) after his history-making third victory in the Grade 1 Queen's Prize at the weekend.

Hopefully we can draw a line thru that run come the Met.

I had heard that Marcus was riding DD but no shock to see Shea up.

Ivory Trail is supplemented to run at 55.5kg.

The big wait now is to see what Le Drakkar will do.

I watched the Supersport broadcast and Jono was asked about the run and if I recall correctly he said that she was a bit overweight and would be better for the Met.

Different points of view from the same yard?

Please note that I post under correction.

Like Oscar, I'll stand by DD - and as I said she's now a much better price. . .

Not that I think PP isn't a great Horse - I just feel that DD is the best Filly in the World, and will prove it this year - roll on The Breeders Cup - lol!
