AUSSIE superstar Weekend Hussler has the Dubai Duty Free in his sights as connections eye an ambitious international campaign for the seven-time Group 1 winner.
The four-year-old champion came through a work-out at Caulfield in fine style at the weekend, which puts him on track for the 2009 Asian Mile Challenge (AMC).
The challenge starts with the Futurity Stakes at Caulfield in Australia on February 28 before moving on to Nad Al Sheba for the Dubai Duty Free on March 28.
The final two legs are the Champions Mile in Hong Kong on April 26 and the Yasuda Kinen in Japan on June 7.
Outlining the plan, trainer Ross McDonald said: "He will run in the Lightning, the Australia Stakes and the Futurity then go to Dubai and Hong Kong.
"With bonuses and everything on offer for the Mile series we could end up coming home with $10 million in our pockets."
The Lightning Stakes at Flemington on January 31 is also the scheduled return of sprint champion Apache Cat, who has been talked of as a possible runnerin the Dubai Golden Shaheen on March 28.
A horse winning three of the four legs of the AMC collects a US$2million bonus, while there is US$1m on offer for a winner of two legs.
