Jimmy Lithgow We Forgive You
16 years 4 months ago
I must admit to having had my fair share to say about Tellytrack but to see Jimmy Lithgow look so dejected whilst apologising for an error he made in race 5 Southwell was not so nice. Apparently the race had already run and the data room posted the same race and JL commented that one of the horses looked to have a good chance but everyone already knew what the result was. The reason for his dejected look is what has been posted on the dark side of the spoon...
In JL's apology he stated that it was sometimes difficult with four races on the go at the same time and sitting in the studio for 10 hours to maintain focus and mistakes sometimes happen. You have to blame P for packing the show with virtual racing. Give us another channel.
I feel sorry for the guy and I for one am going to back off with comments about their errors. Jimmy Lithgow seems like a great person who is knowledgeable about the game. IMO he brings a sense of grace and style with the way he speaks. Almost aristocratic.
These guys are easy targets as they are in the public eye and its easy for us to have a go at them. Can you imagine if we all had a beady eye watching and criticizing our every move in our occupations...
I vote we give them a break

No Al I for one like Jimmy and they have made him look like an idiot..this is not the first time and its getting worse..as I have said again anyone who has Nicos Number as a friend should be telling him to act..this kinda thing in any other co anywhere in the world if the manager did not act and let it go again and again they would be asked to resign.
I watched the whole thing and I punted the winner so it looked funny but it must have been very embarrasing for him and hes not a junior at the game and hes one of the most professional.
Its just NOT acceptable.

Missed the action, but I am a fan of Jimmy, one day tellytrack will listen with regards the "cramped" coverage, another channel has to be the answer!

One hundred percent. It must be tough for someone like Jimmy who has been the voice behind some brilliant breeding productions then have to present a show with a bunch of palookas.
I've said it before. These guys need to have their form guides taken away from them and need to start performing. Too much focus on punting and not enough on the job I can almost guarantee that this is the reason for the blunders.
