Brent's weekend!
16 years 4 months ago
Hi Everyone,
First up thanks to all those who e-mailed or called me about Clan Classique’s maiden win yesterday. It seems a number of you had a few rand down as well – great stuff.
The day itself could not have gone better and I would highlight it as one of the best I have ever had and I will now be on a crusade to get more people involved in racing ownership. Thanks to Dave and the African Betting Clan for the opportunity – there are some nice threads on their racing forum including one which I posted called “A Classique piece of luck” which tells the tale of a mate of mine who made R1500 on the horse by pure miscommunication with me.
Golf Tip
On the betting front I don’t have any strong views this weekend but for those who enjoy their golf betting watch out for World of Sport who keep their 3rd and 4th round betting on the Euro and PGA Tours open quite late (till 30 min before the leaders tee off). This sometimes throws up value as it did for me with Schwartzel last week (even though it never arrived in the end) so keep your eyes peeled and you may get an early charger at a bargain price (just to confirm World of Sport are aware of this and it is not an error on their part)
JOIN MY ENGLISH SOCCER 6 MINI LEAGUE
Log onto www.fs.co.za now and register on the site (many of you will have teams entered from last year already).
Then enter a team in the English Soccer 6 and capture your predictions – you can play for free.
Once entered click on “create/join a mini league”
Search for the mini league Sportingweb and enter the password which is sport
I have left things really late so will close off entries next week Friday but in order not to lose ground make sure you get this weekend predictions in (you simply pick win, lose or draw in 6 matches)
I can’t guarantee prizes but sure I will be able to convince a bookmaker to throw in a few vouchers if we get decent turnout.
Please feel free to invite mates.
ON AIR TOMORROW
We will talk Aussie Open tennis, soccer and horseracing. Tune into channel 169 DSTV Audio at 07h30 or 1485AM Radio Today
Have a great weekend
