The only race i can find is a workriders,so all you guys involved choose who wants to ride her.After carefull deliberation these are the no no's.

Oscar {he'll put it to sleep on the way down}
Catsmug {he'll fight with the starter and her}
Zorro {definate no no,he'll eat it on the way down}
Scotia {needed to orchestrate the event}

Anyone else put there hand up.

Lucky is that the 1800m @Turffies 8th Feb?

There's a 2200m F&M (non-blacktype) MR76 52kg on Valentines day = only carry 51kg!

At least we'll see exactly what we got - lol!

Anyhoo mate you are the man! And we've 100% faith in whatever you choose next for her Clan ness.

As for the vote above, I'll nominate Possum, at least we'll have a good looking Jockey dbl-lol!!

Ouzo, Jim

Guys a question or two which will no doubt show my ignorance:

From what I can tell not having seen CC’s first starts she was tucked in and never really challenged. On Thursday she was allowed to stride freely and the tactics paid immediate dividends over 1800.

The general consensus seems to be that it is a positive that a 3 year old filly can stay the trip and that she should stay further.

And here are the questions: When looking for suitable races are we now searching for 1800m and beyond on the basis of Thursdays win?

What I am wondering is how she would fair over say 1600m using the same tactics that proved successful on Thursday? In other words were the previous runs more down to her not being suited to the running style than the distance being too short for her? Would it be worth having a go over a shorter distance again just to see how she fares striding free from the off?

Having watched the replay (countless times as my wife will vouch) the race to my untrained eye looks like it was run at a decent gallop and was a true 1800m test. Is this accurate and also how did the time rank say when compared to recent 1800m filly races at the track?

Would appreciate any feedback/thoughts and yes I am now hooked on racing.

Brett I think there's been 2 other 110's recently, one of whom is Royal Rez - although done it handier. I can't remeber the other (Starzenne maybe?)

Anyhoo I think one is around MR85 and the other MR81 - so she's in pretty good company imo, hence my comments on the 2200m race @51kg.

However, as I said, it's 100% Lucky's call as he is the Boss - although after finding her 'perfect partner' in P. Whitmore, I like Cat wonder about a WR race - lol!

I just wonder whether a work rider will be able to handle her like Whitmore did before and during the race. imo we should run her with a proper jock aboard

Gave our beloved filly a big mention in my betting blog this week www.sportingweb.co.za/sportingweb/view/s...?oid=12624&sn=Detail

I am amazed by how many stories I am hearing from guys who are on my mailing list or somehow heard about Clan Classique (many through my mother in law) and backed her. Mainly R50 each way type punts - perhaps she can replicate Sea Biscuit and be the peoples champion!
