Lot 163, an un-named bay filly by Second Empire out of a Lycius(Mr.Prospector) mare, Tri Cuins was purchased for 100k.
Second Empire was Champion 2yr and 3yr old Miler in Ireland and was the Second top rated 2yr old in Europe with a Timeform of 124. At 2 he won the Grade 1, Grand Criterium,Longchamp and the Grade 3 Prix des Chenes both over 1600m. At 3, he won the Grade 3 Desmond Stakes (1600m) and finished 3rd in the Grade 1 Irish 2000 Guiness, Grade 1 Prix du Moulin and the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth 11 Stakes, all over 1600m.
He stood at stud in Ireland in 2000 and Australia(shuttle). Sire of winners of 259 races, 8% black type runners/foals. Came to stud in SA in 2004, where he stands at Oaklands Estate.
The dam side goes back to Tamerett(4th dam) who is the dam of Secrettame whose progeny include Gone West and Lion Cavern.

Lenton Grove is a Second Empire who won recently. Three in a row, after only four starts, suggests she is above average.
