DUNKIRK, a "$3.7" million yearling purchase owned by John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith, broke his duck on his debut at Gulfstream Park on Saturday.
Trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Edgar Prado, Dunkirk overcame traffic problems and swung six wide into the straight before drawing clear to win by more than five lenghs as the 8-5 favourite.
He completed the 7f in 1min 25sec, not a spectacular time, but a respectable one over a surface that was not playing fast on the day.
