HOW ABOUT A NEW COMPETITION?
16 years 3 months ago
Scotia,
As a diversion away from the current heavy posts on the site, how about a new competition?
What I have in mind would be for punters to select an exacta from 3 horses boxed for one race of a meeting of their choice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, to include SA and UK races, but limited to the meetings carried by Tabonline so that the tote dividends are available for deciding the results. The competition could run for, say, a period of four weeks which would give punters a maximum of 12 entries and to see how it is received.
This would also allow the PE specialists, the Greyville night racing insomniacs and the UK hurdle and jump ravers to pick their selections from their perferred type of racing.
I'm not sure how difficult it will be to get a sponser these days, but I'm willing to contribute a grand (R1000) for the prizes if necessary - the bigger the pot, the bigger the interest will be (might entice Mori back to the site!). I suggest 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions would attract a better following than previously.
Also I'm available to help with admin. for sorting out results if necessary.
Any comments about this suggestion ??

You normally win the compo Brian, so can understand why you are keen.
The plan is to do something for the 4 days at Cheltenham.
Will post soon!

Thanks Sylvester, but the truth is that I only won the previous competions twice and bombed out on quite a few. But that's racing !! As I previously said "I had more arse than class"
In regards to Scotia's post, not everyone likes the jumps, let alone punting on them, so I thought my proposal for the future competion would be to allow anyone in the competion to be able to select the races of their choice which would be a levelling of the playing fields.
