I for one have witnessed to many bad rides from our jockeys latelly, but the ride on Zorbas Tale was appaulling as the punters got a good smack after their money was down,so minus 1 Strydom. One of the best rides ive seen was L Piggot winning on a horse called Swans Song when in S A the horse was stone last coming home and you could have thrown your tickets away, but all you saw was the horses hoof as the tv cameras were focusing on the winner and next frame the horse got up to win.

Jeff Lloyd

Main Man Mainstay Hanidcap

Think Marcus road Model Man as good a ride in second

Muis Roberts on Rain Forest 2000 Durban horse not expected to stay get.

Count Du Barry Johnny Nicholson/Gerald Turner Invitational Handicap Beats Rain Forest on the Line.

Think names all correct.

Recently bad rides every jock that road CC and did not win.

I think all the best rides I have ever seen are from Lester Piggott and Tony McCoy.
Piggott on Roberto winning the Derby could have been the best, and he won well on the Malster in SA, after arguing with the starter.
The worst is any jock beat on the horses I back!

Zoro, that was Swan Prince, not Swans Song. Yes, it was a great ride, especially as it was at Gosforth Park and people said you couldn't win from so far back on that course. I think the race was called the Allen Snijman Stakes.

I have to agree that Jeff Lloyd's ride on Main Man in the Mainstay was fantastic, the horse carried a featherweight and he took full advantage of it by racing in front and "pinching" the race from Model Man and Bush Telegraph.

Worst ride, Robbie Fradd on Dynasty in the July and he still won... Best ride, Michael Roberts on Northern Princess in the match race with Senor Santa, he dictated the pace, was beaten 200m out, changed his stick and got her to get up and win!

Karl Neisius aboard Falming Rock in the July. What was wrong with Strydoms ride on Zorba's Tale.....the horse looked beat 500m out.

For me one of the best rides was Kevin Shea on Ipi Tombi in the July. Recently thought Anton Marcus rode a brilliant race on Oracy, looked beaten 200m out and still managed to just get him up. No worse ride as we all have bad days at the office.

Worst ride has to be all those rides where the horse that I backed didnt win.

Best ride I've ever seen would have to be a balancing Anton Marcus on Jaypeg in Dubai last year. I thoght that he was done for at a point but Anton and the horse never gave up.

Is this going to be a one-off topic.

I humbly suggest it could be a daily feature!
