50k seems a bit much? Don't get me wrong this animal was a hero of mine, but sadly very few of the progeny have been anything too special.

It looks like they're sticking with the $5k that he stood for in Kentucky.
His record in the US may not be great, but that's probably a lot to do with his pedigree in the US dirt-heavy environment.
From what I can find, he had 4 GR winners, 9 stakes winners, 17 stakes placed horses from 222 starters.
Some info from the g1goldmine software:
Sadler's Wells appears on the sires side of 559 GR winners. 544 won turf GR races, only 27 won dirt GR races. 5 of those dirt winners were sired by Fort Wood, 2 by Horse Chestnut. Sadler's Wells himself sired 150 GR winners and none of them won a GR race on dirt.
