Set of colours worth €40,000 tops auction
A SET of grey colours with free life registration worth €40,000 is the potential top lot among 180 items on offer at the upcoming Irish Horse Welfare Trust charity internet auction.

include a trip to Dubai, a painting and print by Rolling Stone Ron Wood, the chance to play a round of golf with Ruby Walsh as well as visits to famous racing yards such as Aidan O’Brien and Paul Nicholls.
The deadline for the first 90 items is next Monday at 5pm while the closing time for bids for the remainder is the following Monday March 30.
The IHWT is the leading horse welfare charity in Ireland and patrons include trainers Aidan O’Brien and Jessica Harrington as well as SirPeter O’Sullevan, owner-breeder Lady O’Reilly and RTE racing team member Tracey Piggott.
Currently they are caring for around 50 animals and also operates Ireland’s only retraining and re-homing programme for ex-racehorses, of which 14 are currently in residence.
Their financial structure is dependent on grants, donations and monies derived from fund-raising events such as this auction. A similar Internet Auction in 2005 raised in the region of €160,000.
