Yes Oscar, unless it has separate turf and sand ratings. But then Kimberley and Vaal sand rating would be the same. In theory a MR 100 in PE is equal to a MR 100 on any other grass track, but whether it really is is debatable and may need some investigation. Probably pretty close, though.

Vaal and Kimberley sand not the same and Vaal form doesn't always stand up in Kim, but sometimes it obviously does. Worth a bash, anyway!

No young horse should ever have to give weight in a feature race. It is pointless.

Pirates and Magic.
I think its already proven that the merit ratings in PE is totaly wrong.

I wouldn't quite go that far, Kobus, but I do agree that they need some looking into. If what you say is true every horse that arrives in PE from elsewhere would be practically unbeatable (except by other newcomers, of course!) in handicaps. That doesn't happen.

How many times do you see a horse running his first time in PE from whatever merit rating giving a lesson to higher merit rating horses?
PE is seen as giving a horse a second change for racing purposes.

The MR system is just wrong in PE.

Do you think that horses like Hear The Drums, Barthez, Lizard's Desire would be competitive from their PE merit rating in bigger centre's?

Adios we both know that the Lizard shouldn't be in PE.
The handicapper wil eventually make sure of it.
